Lineage builds on Midwest cold chain
Lineage has acquired the assets of the Kansas City-based Cold Point Logistics, a provider of temperature-controlled solutions, effective 1 November. This move will expand Lineage’s cold chain in the USA and add to its existing portfolio of 480 facilities globally.
Thanks to Cold Point’s market experience, having previously been owned by North Point Development, the company can contribute in terms of storage solutions for fresh, refrigerated and frozen products. Its 189,280 sqm base in Kansas City gives it a capacity of 62,000 pallet positions, seven blast cells and a standalone boxing room.
The takeover is Lineage’s largest deal since going public in July of this year and is set to broaden its hold on the Midwest’s protein corridor. (mk)
