Liege Airport is ready for SAF
Liege Airport is Belgium’s first airport to be ready for the distribution of sustainable aviation fuel to its airline-customers. Its aviation fuel installations, as well as its fuelling staff, are ready to receive, store and distribute sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
The fuel storage facilities have been audited over the last few months, and fuel reception, storage and distribution procedures have been reviewed to prepare for the arrival of SAF.
With the airport-owned and operated fuel installations being connected to the NATO Pipeline System (CEPS), any current and new fuel supplier can now not only directly and physically discharge SAF via road tankers into the fuel installations, but also inject larger quantities of SAF into one of the intake points of the CEPS.
