Lidl's biggest logistics hub in Portugal

Lidl has officially inaugurated its largest logistics centre in Portugal, located in Loures, following an investment of EUR 115 million.

Covering 54,000 m² and offering space for 44,000 pallets, the site will supply up to 100 Lidl stores. Construction involved around 300 companies. The facility includes 111 loading ramps and is equipped with sustainability features such as photovoltaic panels, rainwater recycling systems and Breeam certification. It replaces the Sintra centre, now repurposed as an operational support site.

The project is located on a former quarry and landfill site, with works carried out in coordination with Portuguese environmental authorities. (js)
