LHG: strong performance and positive outlook
With around 22.1 million t in 2019, throughput at the Lübecker Hafen-Gesellschaft (LHG) matched the level of the previous year. With the leased terminals, the result amounts to 22.3 million t. The around 730,000 units in ro-ro traffic were also on a par with the prior-year figures. While the amount of trailers dropped slightly, it was set off by an equal rise in accompanied traffic.
The volume of finished vehicles increased slightly, namely by 1.5% to roughly 70,000. With 133,400 trailers and containers (+ 9.5% compared to the previous year), LHG’s subsidiary Baltic Rail Gate achieved a record result in 2019.
Managing director Sebastian Jürgens comments: „We can confirm that last year’s figures have been consolidated.”
The outlook for 2020 is positive. The expansion of the Skandinavienkai is proceeding according to plan, and the new terminal for forestry products is set to begin its trial operation. The 25,000 sqm multi-use hall, the core piece of the facility, will officially come on stream at the end of January. (mw)
