Less dry ice, more medicine
Swiss cool logistics provider Skycell has engineered a new deep-frozen container, which is safer and more secure than traditional deep-frozen options relying on dry ice. It also allows the transport of up to ten times more life-saving medicines and active pharma ingredients in one air cargo shipment.
Skycell’s precision engineering and energy distribution system created a solution with an average independent run time of 120 hours with only 100 kg of dry ice. The "1500DF" maintains a steady temperature of -60°C to -80°C, enabling on average 1.75 million vials to be transported in a single aircraft – enough to vaccinate between 875,000 and 8.75 million people.
Above that, it is easy to handle with no extra equipment needed – only a pallet jacket is required to simply load the container onto a truck. (ah)
