Less congestion at Franco-Suisse border
Switzerland and France are jointly financing the renovation and reconstruction of the customs platform on the A35 motorway between Saint-Louis in France and Basel in Switzerland.
The EUR 3.5 million construction works comprise the renewal of the tracks, the building of a new car park with 81 parking spaces for trucks that have to be processed and a carpark for empty trucks and transit traffic.
The purpose of these measures is to ease congestion in international traffic on the motorway and reduce waiting times for trucks at the customs. The reconstruction will also improve traffic safety at the customs facility and on the access roads. The project is scheduled to be completed by 2022. (ben)
