Legal immigrants from Latin America to the USA
Three Bengal tigers arrived at Miami airport in the USA yesterday, 25 November 2019, before completing the final leg of their journey by road to their forever home Big Cat Rescue in Tampa (FL).
After banning the use of animals in circuses in 2017, the government of Guatemala invited Animal Defenders International (ADI) to help enforce the law, as the organisation has done in Bolivia, Colombia and Peru.
"Operation Liberty" was launched in May 2018, ADI establishing from scratch a temporary rescue centre in the country to care for the animals rescued until they could be relocated to their forever homes.
Last week already, American Airlines Cargo transported ten brown bears from Buenos Aires (Argentina) to Dallas-Fort Worth (TX, USA). They originated from a zoological park and will end their journey at a wild animal sanctuary in Colorado. (ah)
