Leadership succession plan
Alaska Air Group's board of directors has announced a leadership change: Ben Minicucci (right) will assume the role of the group's CEO on 31 March 2021, succeeding Brad Tilden (left), who served as CEO for eight years and who will continue as board chair.
Patricia Bedient, Alaska Air Group lead independent director: «This announcement is the culmination of a multi-year succession planning process».
Minicucci has a 16 years career with Alaska, joining the company in 2004 as staff vice president of maintenance. Named as president of Alaska Airlines in 2016 and as CEO of Virgin America, he is also a member of the Alaska Air Group board.
During his career, he held various roles of increasing responsibility, as executive vice president, chief operating officer or also as vice president of Seattle operations. (amh)
