Latam Cargo boosts flower export capacity

The operators of the Latam Cargo group have strengthened their position as major providers of flower transports in the region after acquiring a new Boeing 767-300BCF.

This aircraft is the 18th in their joint fleet of cargo planes and will allow them to increase their presence in the export and import markets in the region.

Colombia and Ecuador are the two flower export markets where the Latam Cargo group expects to make the most use of the enhanced capacity. With the incorporation of the new cargo aircraft, the group has been able to add seven new frequencies departing from Quito, Bogota, and Medellin, thus increasing the capacity offered to customers of the floriculture sector by 20%.

Latam Cargo has tripled its operations from Medellin and Bogota since 2019, going from twelve weekly flights in 2019 to 35 in 2023. (cj)
