Last-mile delivery by robots set for major growth
Revenues from last-mile deliveries carried out by robots are forecast to grow from USD 260 million in 2025 to USD 1.74 billion by 2032, according to ABI Research.
Nearly 25,000 autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) are expected to be deployed by then, driven by rising last-mile costs and the demand for faster and greener deliveries in urban areas. North America leads adoption, with providers like Nurov, Cruise and Starship Technologies pushing deployments.
Europe follows, with partnerships such as Starship’s cooperation with Bolt Food. The expansion into structured areas like malls, universities and suburban streets shows growing acceptance.
AMRs offer the lowest cost-per-delivery among all mobility types and significantly reduce emissions, supporting wider rollout as e-commerce continues to boom globally. (ah)
