Last-mile deliveries in Iberia
In December 2022, Rhenus Home Delivery, a specialist for end-customer deliveries, acquired exactly 49.9% of the shares in the Portuguese logistics group Grupo Totalmédia, which was founded in 1998. More shares are to be purchased in the next few years. With the acquisition, Totalmédia’s 650 employees will transfer to the Rhenus Group. The investment includes last-mile transport services.
Grupo Totalmédia specialises in home delivery solutions for large-volume shipments and also offers assembly services. It has its headquarters in Lisbon, owns 48 other locations and comprises six divisions that provide logistics and distribution solutions in the Iberian Peninsula.
Rhenus has stakes in TNB, TTM Entregas ao Domicilio, Home Logistics and Sama Logistica. "With Grupo Totalmédia, we are opening up two additional markets, Spain and Portugal," commented Ronny Sassen, managing director at Rhenus Home Delivery. (sh)
