Larger hubs for fashion distribution
E-commerce makes it possible. Arvato Supply Chain Solutions is expanding its logistics hubs in Dortmund and Dorsten/Marl in Germany.
The new warehouses are required primarily for existing customers from the fashion industry, whose goods volumes in the online trade have substantially increased. Besides the extension, the company is also investing in new automation technology.
In Dortmund, an additional 7,700 sqm of base area and 900 sqm of mezzanine floor will be available in future. The new facilities are scheduled to be completed by March 2021, and operations are to start in July 2021 after the intralogistics systems have been installed.
Work on the expansion of the 60,000 sqm e-commerce distribution centre in the intercommunal industrial park Dorsten/Marl is also in full swing. (sh)
