Large quantities of grain transported from Ukraine
From the outbreak of the war until the end of August, the Austrian Rail Cargo Group transported 580,000 t of grain from Ukraine, with over 145,000 t in August alone.
A large part of the deliveries in August went to grain processing companies in Hungary, followed by companies in Germany, Italy, Romania and the Netherlands.
RCG grain trains cross four border crossings: the Ukrainian-Slovakian border at Chop, the Ukrainian-Hungarian border at Zahony, the Ukrainian-Romanian border at Reni, and the Ukrainian-Polish border at Chyriw. RCG is expanding its cooperation with the Ukrainian state railway Ukrzaliznica to speed up these grain exports. (ben)
