Large fleet investment in the Baltics

A syndicate of banking institutions in Europe has agreed EUR 145 million for Lithuania-based haulier Girteka to invest in the acquisition of new vehicles in 2021. The aim of this upgrade is to improve the working conditions of the company's drivers and to maximise safety on the roads.

The investment will be used to purchase an undisclosed number of the latest truck and trailer models manufactured by world-class producers, such as DAF and Schmitz Cargobull.

Over the last 25 years, Girteka has scaled up from one man’s idea to the largest asset-based transportation company in Europe. This investment will strengthen Girteka’s position in international markets, the Baltic haulier said. (ben)
