Langh Ship welcomes the ‘Ingrid’
The Finnish shipping line Langh Ship has taken delivery of the ‘Ingrid’, the first in a series of three 1,200 teu container feeder vessels, at PaxOcean shipyard in Zhoushan.
The ship was named on 15 March, following the owner family’s tradition of naming vessels after female family members – in this case, Ingrid, daughter of Linda Langh. Chartered by Borchard Lines, the vessel is optimised for 45 ft containers and features innovative hatch covers that improve access to cargo holds. Flexible cell guides support various container sizes.
Developed at the Shanghai Merchant Ship Design & Research Institute, the vessel combines high capacity with energy efficiency. It is equipped with green tech from Langh Tech, including a hybrid scrubber and a future carbon capture system designed to cut CO₂ emissions by up to 50%. A BWMS and battery reservation round off the concept. (ah)
