Landing in Ostend, flying lions to South Africa
Two years after Bcube Air Cargo started its adventure at Ostend-Bruges airport, the Italian air services provider has begun to handle Qatar Airways flights as the carrier has officially included the Belgian airport in its cargo network. "We are extremely proud of our team, providing our top customer Qatar Airways Cargo with professional and efficient service," the company said.
In other news, as part of Chapter 2 of its "WeQare" sustainability programme, the Middle Eastern carrier flew lions to their natural habitat for free. It took six months of work involving a dozen departments and over 50 employees to ensure a successful operation.
Two nature reserves near Port Elizabeth welcomed three lions, one lioness and three cubs. This involved a three-day trip from Kiev via Doha to Johannesburg so that the lions could walk on grass for the first time in their lives.
