Koper to receive a fourth rail-mounted gantry in 2020
Many operational measures that were taken by the port of Koper and Slovenian railways last year helped to improve the port’s railway infrastructure. The current daily average of arriving/departing container trains varies from 20 to 24, while the container terminal capacity is 30 - 32 trains daily.
In the middle of 2020, the Slovenian port plans to install a fourth rail-mounted gantry. These measures also improved the capacity on the line between Koper and Divaca in Slovenia, where the current average is 62 freight trains daily, while the line accommodates up to 75 freight trains daily, which should suffice until the second railway track between Koper and Divaca is completed in 2026.
