Koerber takes over from Siemens
The international technology group Koerber has inked an agreement to acquire Siemens Logistics’ global mail and parcel business. With around 1,200 employees, this Siemens segment generates an annual revenue of about EUR 500 million. The price of the transaction was not disclosed.
With the purchase, the Koerber group complements its supply chain offering in Europe and North America and enhances its foothold in the fast-growing Chinese market.
With its five business units - digital, pharma, supply chain, tissue and tobacco - and more than 10,000 employees, Koerber provides mail and parcel technology and fully automated solutions for digitised mail and parcel processing for global logistics companies.
The rise in e-commerce and changes in consumer behaviour continue to drive demand for automation and digitisation in parcel processing as well. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. (sh)
