Klog represents Geodis

Thanks to its close collaboration with the French logistician Klog can deliver goods to other European countries even faster now. It focuses is on various categories, including the Portuguese export hit cork.

The Portuguese logistics company Klog posted strong growth last year. It sales increased to EUR 60 million, which corresponds to a plus of 14%. Klog again plans to grow steadily this year, simultaneously present a number of innovations and continuously intensify its existing partnership with the logistician Geodis.

Since early February the firm has been the official representative in Portugal of Geodis Distribution & Express. Thanks to this new status, Klog has been able to expand its offerings for its customers. Consignments to France as well as other countries can be processed in about 48 to 72 hours. This is 24 hours less when compared to the firm’s previous processes. The express transport services that Klog offers are used for collective consignments as well as goods from the foodstuffs, textiles, shoe and car industries. On top of that the volumes of cork – Portugal is a leading manufacturer and processor of this precious raw material – is also strong.

Klog has collaborated with Geodis since it was established in 2012, first in the fields of maritime and air transport operations, later also in road haulage. Since last autumn Klog has been Geodis’ preferred freight forwarding agent in Portugal. This means that the company has access to a network in 120 countries and can provide more logistics services to major customers.

We aim to generate sales of approximately EUR 75 million.

Klog has grown through many new sites in recent years. Are there any more new branches in the pipeline?

Early in May we commissioned a new facility in Lisbon to manage further growth in the region.

All in all this new facility has eleven docks, 6,200 sqm of warehousing space as well as 900 sqm of new office space. No more centres are due at the moment.
