Keeping the show on the road
Honold Logistik, which is headquartered in Neu-Ulm (Germany), handled an unusual type of cargo recently: The provider deployed several trucks to transport the complete stage set and inventory for the performance of “My Fair Lady” from the theatre in Ulm to Honold. The sets and decorations will now be stored in the company’s logistics centres free of charge so that they can be reactivated intact when the shows are resumed in June 2020.
For the Honold Logistik group the promotion of cultural events is an inherent part of a company’s business responsibility. “I think that it is important for companies to sponsor cultural institutions, and the Honold family is very committed to supporting the local theatre,” says Heiner-Matthias Honold.
Despite being short of capacity, Honold was able to find an appropriate place in its warehouses to store “My Fair Lady’s” props safely, thus keeping the musical’s stage set in one piece and ready for future performances. (mw)
