Kale and IPCSA release whitepaper on MSW
Global IT solutions provider Kale Logistics Solutions and NGO IPCSA (International Port Community Systems Association) have published a white paper to address recent uncertainties regarding the Maritime Single Window (MSW) software. MSW is a platform that allows the complete digitisation of information and documents between maritime and port stakeholders.
Suneet Gupta (photo), global head of Kale Logistics Solutions, said that there are questions about the need for MSW. According to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), MSW reduces the impact on the marine ecosystem and will become mandatory by January 2024.
Nico De Cauwer, who leads the standards & technology department at IPCSA: “MSW is going to be the future of maritime trade.” Indeed, digitised and automated information will make it easier for stakeholders to monitor a vessel’s status in real time. (lh)
