JV for new terminal in Abu Dhabi Ports
The AD Ports Group has broken ground for a new capacity container terminal in Abu Dhabi. The CMA Terminals Khalifa Port is expected to be operational in H1/2025 and will be managed by a joint venture owned by CMA Terminals (70% ownership), a subsidiary of global shipping and logistics giant CMA CGM, and AD Ports Group (30% ownership).
An investment of AED 3.3 billion (USD 898 million) has been earmarked for the facility. The project includes a 19 m deep berth pocket, a rail platform and a 1 million sqm terminal yard. Hinterland connections via Etihad Rail will be one of the major features. (sh)
