Jumia partners with Goliath
A new partnership in Africa: the multinational trade and omnichannel group Jumia, founded ten years ago, is giving UPS access to its last mile logistics infrastructure, including the network of Jumia's drop-off and pick-up stations. The UPS services offered will include door-to-door package delivery and collection, with a variety of payment options.
The new collaboration will initially cover Kenya, Morocco and Nigeria. Then the companies plan to expand their network to Ghana and Ivory Coast, with the remaining African countries where Jumia operates to follow at a later date.
Jumia considers this partnership with UPS as a validation of the strength of its logistics platform and as a support of small and medium-sized businesses in Africa that make up 90% of all businesses on the continent. (sh)
