Joint trial run in Singapore
It is a cooperation of three on land and sea. PSA and OOCL have now completed their joint pilot run to integrate the flow of containers between two PSA facilities in Singapore, Keppel Distripark and On-Dock Depot. The focus lies on reducing overall trucking distance for empty container collection and returns within Singapore.
OOCL was the first line to support the project to cut supply chain inefficiencies, improve truck productivity and reduce carbon emissions. The enhanced flow of empty containers between the two facilities can reduce an average of 93% of kg of carbon dioxide equivalent per trip due to the significantly shorter distance.
The other key partner in this joint initiative is Hup Soon Cheong Services, a major warehouse operator and haulier. (sh)
