Joint efforts in intercontinental e-commerce
Three partners from Asia (Alibaba's logistics division Cainiao), the Middle East (the air cargo carrier Saudia Cargo) and Europe (the cargo handling agent Worldwide Flight Services) will reinforce their collaboration, focusing on optimising logistics processes by streamlining operations and adopting logistics innovations.
A key component of this collaboration is the establishment of a dedicated area in the air cargo station of "Liege eHub" in Belgium, Cainiao's European regional hub, which is operated by WFS.
The latest agreement between Cainiao and Saudia Cargo reinforces a longstanding relationship by giving precedence to the airline's freighter flights originating from Hong Kong and bound for Riyadh and Liege, including a contract extension to WFS/Sats for handling over 50,000 t/year. (ah)
