Joining forces to optimise rail operations
PJ Monitoring (PJM), an Austria-based system specialist for rail transport, and technology group Voith, which is headquartered in Germany, will work together to develop a system that combines coupler-assisted automatic train inauguration and the safe remote-controlled decoupling of freight cars with an automatic coupler. The aim is to improve efficiency and safety for railfreight operations.
PJM is an expert for automation solutions in this field and, with its waggon tracker monitoring system, also a pioneer in digitalisation. Voith has also been one of the key drivers of innovation in the rail technology segment, of which automatic freight coupler Cargo Flex is an example. (ben)
