Jens Thiermann withdraws from the helm at Timocom
Jens Thiermann, the IT entrepreneur and founder of the freight exchange Timocom, has withdrawn from the operative management of his company after 23 years of service, to concentrate on other challenges. “It's time to give something back to the industry,” says Thiermann, who already handed over the entire business to his eldest son Tim, and to Sebastian Lehnen, hitherto a member of the executive board, in April.
In addition, Thiermann has brought a new lease of life to the association “Die Transportbotschafter e.V.” (“The Transport Ambassadors”), which he founded in 2012. The aim of the association is to lobby for the interests of the German transport and logistics industry by means of statements and events on issues that have a strong public impact and thus “reduce the lack of understanding that this sector of the economy and its employees still have to contend with in the general public.” Thiermann: “We want to transmit messages that reach everyone.” (mw)
