JBHT: changing of the guard
J.B. Hunt Transport Services, a provider of supply chain solutions based in North America, has appointed Shelley Simpson as its CEO and president and nominated her for election to its board of directors. Simpson has served as J.B. Hunt’s president since 1 August 2022.
The company also announced that Kirk Thompson, current executive chairman of the board along with Wayne Garrison, will both retire from the board of directors to assume newly formed roles on the advisory board as honorary founding directors.
John N. Roberts, III, outgoing CEO, will replace Thompson as executive chairman of the board. The changes are part of the company’s plans for the succession and reorganisation of the board to support future growth and shareholder confidence. (cj)
