Japanese expand in Belgium and Netherlands
Nippon Express Nederland, the Dutch subsidiary of Nippon Express, has opened a logistics centre in Nijmegen in the southeastern province of Gelderland. The new 200,000 sqm facility will serve as a gateway for air and ocean cargo and will cater to the company’s customers in Europe, such as Takeuchi Manufacturing, a company that develops, manufactures and sells small construction machines.
170 km to the south of Nijmegen, but already in Belgium, the Japan-based logistics provider founded in 1937 also announces news: With the opening of another facility at Liege airport (LGG), Nippon Express can offer clients air cargo alternatives.
Starting today, 16 April 2021, the first connection set-up will be a weekly (part) charter flight LGG - Tokyo NRT - LGG lasting during the summer. (ah)
