Japanese carriers to end mail codesharing with UPS


ANA All Nippon Airways and Air Japan are to cease mail codesharing with UPS effective tomorrow (2 February 2019). After the merger with ANA in 2010, Air Japan began to operate 217 cargo flights per week with a B767-300F/BCF. The main operating hubs for the cargo flights are in Okinawa and Narita. From there the aircraft it flew to China, Korea and South Asia.

 

ANA's international mail volume from January to November 2018 totalled 17,084 t, 13% less than in the first eleven months of 2017. On the domestic side, the decrease was 9.9%, lowering the tonnage to 18,657 t. (ah)
