JAL Cargo about to resume maindeck ops
Japan Airlines' return into the full freighter business, which was announced ten months ago, will take place next Monday, 19 February 2024, when its first B767-300ERF will launch the Tokyo (NRT) - Taipei route.
According to Japan's flag carrier, the maindeck operations will enhance stable and flexible air transport capabilities. Yuichiro Kito, executive officer, cargo & mail: "As we operate our own freighters for the first time in 13 years, we will contribute to solving social issues and also position this segment as the driver of our company's dramatic business growth."
The development of a network strategy based on growing demand is in line with a long-term partnership with DHL Express, which has strengthened its infrastructure network, including the recent inauguration of its expanded Central Asia hub. (ah)
