Italian shuttle service launched
Shipping and logistics group CMA CGM has introduced the Piacenza Rail Shuttle. The new rail service connects the Italian port of Genoa with the Piacenza logistics hub and is operated in cooperation with the Italian intermodal rail operator GTS.
The Piacenza Rail shuttle service officially started with its first train departure from Genoa on Monday (8 February 2021). Three departures per week between the port of Genoa and Piacenza will enhance CMA CGM’s intermodal offer and represents a reliable and fast rail connection between Italy’s busiest port and a major logistics hub.
In Genoa, the train schedules are perfectly synchronised with the arrivals and departures of the CMA CGM Group’s vessels. (ben)
