IRS at Singapore Maritime Week
Indian Register of Shipping (IRS), an international ship classification society and IACS member (International Association of Classification Societies), organised several successful events during Singapore Maritime Week (SMW) 2023, which took place on April 24-28.
The SMW is an important annual gathering for the international maritime community. Among its other events and exhibitions, IRS hosted its 6th Singapore Advisory Committee Meeting this year. The company was also able to meet the Indian High Commissioner to Singapore, His Excellency P. Kumaran (photo with Arun Sharma), and Teo Eng Dih, chief executive of Maritime Port Authority of Singapore.
Sharma, executive chairman of IRS: “Taking part in SMW was an excellent opportunity for IRS to engage with industry peers, customers and partners.” And it will also help the company to focus on how to grow the class society in East Asia and South-East Asia as well as boosting bilateral ties with major maritime centres across the Asia Pacific region.
