IRS and Dassault Systèmes join forces
The international ship classification society Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) has entered into a partnership with the French company Dassault Systèmes and its platform "3Dexperience". IRS wants to "execute [its] digital strategy and add value to [its] business," Arun Sharma, executive chairman of IRS says.
Marine and offshore projects will be optimised, research and development will be accelerated with key performance indicators (KPI) and all processes will be digitalised.
Deepak NG (photo), managing director India of Dassault Systèmes, said that "complex marine and offshore projects need new ways to leverage the advanced technologies that are defining a new era in shipbuilding and gain an edge in the industry."
The platform offers these options. The primary purpose of IRS is to exceed its customers’ expectations regarding the delivery of high-quality vessels. (lh)
