Irish haulier grows – and augments its fleet

South Coast Logistics has taken delivery of five new Volvo FM 460 6x2 tractor units. They join an 85 strong commercial vehicle fleet and will operate primarily in the south of Ireland, typically in the province of Munster, working on bulk ADR assignments.

The Irish haulier has grown over the last decade and as a result, its fleet has had to undergo significant transformations, South Coast Logistics said.

The new vehicles are expected to cover 100,000 km annually. They are powered by Euro-6 compliant Step E engines, which can produce 460 hp and a peak torque of 2,300 Nm.

Founded in 1975, South Coast Logistics is a specialist in intermodal road tanker transport, storage and site services. (ben)
