Interrail’s Uzbekistan train on firm footing

After eleven months, Switzerland-headquartered Interrrail has been able to draw a positive conclusion about its rail service from the Russian port of Nakhodka-Vostochny to Uzbekistan and vice versa. The transport option, which was launched in March 2018, registers growing demand and has thus successfully passed the trial phase.

The connection has already been extended to include another (third) blocktrain, so that a departure can now be offered every ten days in both directions. The transit time is between eleven and twelve days.

To operate this service, the Russian Interrail subsidiary cooperates closely with colleagues in Uzbekistan, organising the leasing of wagons, handling in ports, freight invoicing and assembling the blocktrains. (ben)
