Intermodal terminal in Marseille to open in Q2/2024
Kalmar has been contracted to supply two electric reachstackers to French multimodal terminal operator BTM. The machines will be deployed at Terminal Ouest Provence (TOP) in the north of Marseille, France.
TOP is a new multimodal terminal developed by Open Modal Group and scheduled to open in Q2/2024. The terminal will be operated by BTM, a subsidiary of Open Modal Group, and will handle trains run by T3M and drawn by Combirail, both other subsidiaries of Open Modal Group.
Open Modal aims to integrate and decarbonise its intermodal transport chain, including road haulage. The electric reachstackers are scheduled to be delivered during Q1/2024. BTM’s fleet already includes six diesel-powered Kalmar reachstackers. (ben)
