Integrating parcel pick-up in Iberia

DHL and CTT Expresso are cooperating in the e-commerce field on the Iberian Peninsula to set up a comprehensive parcel pick-up and delivery network in Spain and Portugal. The partnership will see the local logistics company acquire DHL’s Portuguese e-commerce business and become the joint processor and distributor of DHL e-commerce parcel volumes in the country.

For the Spanish market, DHL will focus on B2B, while CTT’s local entity will work on B2C services. All in all the companies are aiming to capitalise on the region’s growing e-commerce market, with demands for effective parcel processing solutions rising.

CTT operates 20,000 service points, 22 hubs and 257 depots in Spain in Portugal, while DHL has more than 3,000 service points in Spain. By combining their expertise they can create an efficient network and offer last-mile delivery in both countries. (mk)
