Indian-Swiss working group forges ahead
India and Switzerland decide to maintain their cooperation in the rail transport sector. The two sides have followed upon the first meeting of the joint working group (JWG) set up by the two countries after the MoU for cooperation in the rail sector was signed in 2017.
In its discussions, the joint working group focused on freight and passenger cars, railway electrification equipment, multimodal transport and tunnelling technology. It was also agreed that a regular follow-up system will be institutionalised to monitor the progress of interactions and implementation in a time-bound manner. (ben)
