Indian "medicine from the sky" initiative
India's Anra Technologies has joined the "medicine from the sky" initiative. This project, spearheaded by the emerging technologies wing of the India government's information technology electronics and communications department, integrates drone technology to deliver medicine over long distances to rural areas with minimal road infrastructure.
With support from the Indian union minister for civil aviation, the government of Telangana has launched trials to advance healthcare using this innovative technology.
Using lessons learned from Anra’s recently completed BVLOS EOI trials, the project consortia will deploy with Anra’s delivery and airspace management software connected to the drones, providing an entire ecosystem for ensuring that the drones will deliver medicine safely and efficiently. (ah)
