Increasing logistics activities in Europe
The company is on track for growth: logistics service provider DB Schenker has opened a new sustainable logistics centre in Contern, Luxemburg. The multifunctional warehouse is located near Luxembourg Airport and well connected to the regional highway network. It features 18 gates, 7,000 sqm warehouse space and 1,400 sqm office space and will employ a staff of 105.
Built in compliance with Tapa-A security standards and meeting environmental standards, the property includes infrastructure for electric charging of cars, bicycles and transport vehicles.
DB Schenker began operating in Luxemburg in 1989 and soon began to augment its portfolio. Starting as a central air freight hub, the company gradually added ocean freight, land transport, customs clearance, and logistics services.
The new Contern location will allow Schenker to further expand its logistics activities in Luxemburg and Europe, the company said. (ben)
