Improving the port's rail network
In Germany, Duisport is currently evaluating options to install the Mag Rail technology in the port’s infrastructure. Mag Rail was developed by Nevomo and enables to expand the capacity and performance of existing rail lines and operate electric rail vehicles in currently non-electrified areas such as terminals and ports.
The Mag Rail system can be easily integrated into existing train operations by upgrading the infrastructure. The new technology improves train dynamics, enables higher marginal loads and provides more flexibility. It also allows automatic train operation without the need to build new lines. (ben)
