Imbach Logistik builds in Lucerne
Imbach Logistik, a subsidiary of Galliker, a Swiss transport company, is building a new logistics facility in Lucerne (Switzerland). Already present in the area, Imbach now intends to significantly grow its footprint in Lucerne and is investing CHF 60 million in the project.
On a 30,000 sqm area, the company is setting up a high-bay warehouse with space for 6,500 pallets and a small parts storage facility with up to 130,000 containers.
The new logistics facility will be built in two phases, the first of which is scheduled to be completed by the end of summer 2022. The second phase will last until autumn 2024, when the existing halls will be replaced by the new building, which will comprise around 60 working stations in future.
As in its other locations, Imbach has opted for a consistent “green logistics” approach. The new building will have a 100% groundwater heating and cooling system powered by heat pumps and free cooling. (mw)
