Ideas for rail network improvements - but no money as yet
Based on a railway company survey, the Association of German Transport Companies (VDV) has published a list of measures that reveals infrastructural problems on Germany’s rail network and their solutions from the user's point of view.
The list, published for the ninth time since 2002, contains 513, mostly small and medium sized proposals which would bring about swift and effective relief for the rail network. So far, however, no public funds are available.
VDV pointed out: "Additional federal funding of EUR 50 million to EUR 100 million per year is needed to finance many of these effective measures and implement them quickly.” (ben)
