ICTSI wins bid to modernise Iloilo port
International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) has officially been granted a 25-year concession to manage and develop the Visayas Container Terminal (VCT) in Iloilo City, Philippines. The aim of the deal is to enhance the economic prospects of the Western Visayas region by improving the terminal infrastructure and the efficiency of cargo-handling.
Located strategically, VCT serves as a crucial hub for Iloilo, Panay Island, and the broader Western Visayas area. The terminal, which currently processes 100,000 teu and 2 million t of non-containerised cargo annually, will see significant investments from ICTSI. The enhancements are designed to transform VCT into a modern facility, boosting its capacity and operational efficiency. (pb)
