Icelandair Cargo: managing director steps down
Gunnar Már Sigurfinnsson has decided to resign as managing director of Icelandair Cargo and will leave Icelandair group’s executive committee. The resignation will become effective immediately, but he will continue to work within the company in the upcoming months and support his successor as required to ensure a successful handover.
Einar Már Guðmundsson (pictured), director of Icelandair’s technical operations, will take over Sigurfinnsons role at Icelandair Cargo ad interim and join the group’s executive committee until a replacement can be found. The company will now initiate a formal recruitment process to find a new managing director.
Einar Már Guðmundsson has worked for Icelandair since 2015. Previously, he was the leader of procurement at Rio Tinto Alcan (ISAL) for three years and before that he was the operations manager of Skeljungur. (cj)
