Iata highlights the role of Athens Airport
Athens International Airport (AIA), represented by its manager of ground handling and cargo development Alexis Sioris (right, with Brendan Sullivan, Iata's global head of cargo), has been recognised "for its valuable support and contribution" to local cargo community members receiving Iata's Ceiv Pharma certification.
With Goldair Handling, Skyserv, Swissport Greece, DHL Global Forwarding (Hellas) and Talos Attikis under its umbrella, AIA and its partners proactively addressed the increased requirements needed for the handling and transport of pharma products by air.
The cargo handlers invested heavily in upgrading their cool storage facilities, while all stakeholders enhanced their operational procedures to ensure product integrity by meeting global standards for the handling and transport of pharmaceuticals and complying with national and international regulations.
