Iata appoints new regional VP North Asia
The International Air Transport Association (Iata) is appointing Ma Tao as its regional vice-president (RVP) for North Asia. Ma joins Iata from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) where he is currently head of the airworthiness certification centre.
Ma will be based at Iata’s North Asia regional office in Beijing. The North Asia region comprises Greater China, Mongolia and North Korea. Iata's main activities in North Asia include promoting aviation safety, advocating for the adoption of global standards, and managing financial settlements between airlines and agents.
The North Asia regional office is also an integral part of Iata’s global delivery centre supporting its worldwide financial settlement activity.
As RVP of North Asia, Ma joins Iata’s strategic leadership team, reporting directly to Alexandre de Juniac, the association's director general and CEO. (mw)
