IAM mourns chairman Sean McCool (1931 – 2023)

International Airine Marketing (IAM), Ireland’s largest air-cargo GSSA, has announced that its chairman and one of the great pioneers of Irish aviation and logistics passed away in June this year.

Aged 92, Sean McCool had an extraordinary life and career in business that lasted over 70 years. His career started in the 1950′s with senior positions in Seaboard & Western Airlines, Brinks and Aer Lingus commercial cargo. In the following decades he joined the board of Havelet Holdings and was chairman of Ryanair executive jet terminals.

In 1989, McCool founded International Airline Marketing (IAM), setting the stage for Ireland’s most successful air-cargo GSSA, which now represents over 25% of Ireland’s air cargo exports. He stayed on as chairman of the company after he retired from his executive role, passing the reigns to his son, Ian. (cj)
