IAI partners with HAL
Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), one of India’s major defence companies, to convert multi mission tanker transport (MMTT) in India.
The local MMTT conversions will utilise India’s local defence ecosystem and support India’s ‘Make in India’ campaign. The MOU also includes commercial passenger-to-freighter conversions.
Building on over four decades of IAI’s experience converting aircraft across the world, HAL will convert preowned aircraft into cargo configuration with air refuelling and transport capacity. HAL will take over aircraft life extension and full life-circle maintenance in India. (cj)
